Call for projects 2022

Do you want to take initiatives to fight racism? You can!

With this call for projects, the State Secretary for Equal Opportunities, Sarah Schlitz, encourages organisations to contribute to the development of federal policy in the fight against racism.

The list below includes the themes that are among the priorities of the State Secretary for Equal Opportunities. It is recommended to submit an application that corresponds to one of these themes, but this is not mandatory.

The following themes have been selected: 

  • The deconstruction of racist prejudices / stereotypes.
  • The development of training systems for state officials.
  • Improving the representativeness of “diversities” in Belgian society.
  • Structural racism.
  • Specific forms of racism: anti-Semitism, Afrophobia / negrophobia, Islamophobia, Romaphobia, anti-Asian racism / Asiaphobia, anti-migrant racism).
  • The deconstruction of colonial schemes and decolonial actions.
  • Taking into account the intersectional aspect of discrimination in connection with one or more forms of racism.

Only legal entities with a disinterested aim, established in Belgium (non-profit association, international non-profit association, private foundation, public utility foundation) can apply for these grants. The call for projects is not open to public entities (municipalities, SPF, CPAS, etc.). The maximum budget that will be granted is between 25,000 and 75,000 euros per project.

The grants guide contains a clear description of the conditions and evaluation criteria. It details how to submit an application correctly. Please note! This guide has been modified from last year. Please refer to this new version.

The application package includes a completed application form and additional information on the financial and content functioning of your organisation.

Deadline for submission: 10 June 2022.
